While there were some really interesting looks at the recent 73rd annual Golden Globes red carpet, Kate Winslet’s faux bob stole the show. Celebrity makeup guru Clint Fernandes says he’s a fan of this classic up-do. His suggestion? “To complement a faux bob, opt for apricot cheeks, burgundy lips and black eyeliner.

Prep by applying mousse on the roots to add volume to fine hair

Blow-dry hair using a flat brush.

Start tonging your hair section by section. Roll up your locks and secure with bobby pins. Allow to cool for 10 minutes. As you’re working on each section, spritz some hairspray for hold.

While you’re waiting, start doing your face by prepping your skin with a facial mist.

Apply moisturiser and swipe corrector under your eyes and on any dark areas around your lips. This will neutralise your skin tone and prepare it for concealer.

Apply concealer under your eyes and on the corners of your lips.

Do basic light contouring to add dimension to your face. Apply cream-based apricot blush on the apples of your cheeks. Blend everything together with a moist sponge.

For a natural dewy glow, apply foundation over the blush and contour lines. Set your foundation with setting powder.

Apply black eyeliner on the upper lashline and finish with mascara for long and voluminous lashes.

Using a brush, apply burgundy lip colour.

Go back to working on your hair by unrolling the sections. Spritz some hairspray.

Divide your hair into two sections from ear to ear. Pin up the front section.

Divide the lower one into six smaller sections. Tie each section in to loose ponytails.

Take one ponytail at a time and make a loop just above the elastic band. Insert the ends in this loop and pull them out from the other side. Pin these ponytails from the midpoint leaving the ends dangling at the nape.

Unpin the top layer and backcomb for texture. Finish with a shine spray.
