It is a part of Kashmiri culture to drink this beverage 2−3 times a day with traditional Kashmiri breads and pastries like lavasa, sheermal, kandir tchot, bakarkhani and kulcha.

Ingredients for Kashmiri Chai (Pink tea)
2 cups of water, room temperature
2 tsp green tea
2 pinches baking soda (Meetha soda)
2 pinch salt
1 pinch nutmeg powder
1 pinch mace powder
4 green cardamoms
2 cloves
2 tbsp. pistachio crushed
2 tbsp. almonds crushed
3-4 tbsp. sugar, add more if you want
2 ½ cups of full fat milk
1 ½ cup ice cold water

Method:
1.Over high heat, pour 2 cups of water into pot and let it boil.
2.After boiling, add 2 tsp green tea and let it cook for 10 minutes on medium flame.
3.Then, add baking soda for that pink color, also add salt, green cardamoms and cloves. Mix and allow it to cook for another 10 minutes on medium flame.
4.After 10 minutes, turn off the flame and start adding ice cold water gradually and stir vigorously for 3-4 minutes.
